Services offered in French

Pluri-elles serves rural and urban Francophone communities in Manitoba. Within the range of services offered by Pluri-elles, Pour de meilleures relations works specifically with parents, at-risk children age 0-6, and adolescents. It also has a community component aimed at providing services and information to the broader Francophone community in Manitoba. The project was developed in 1995 to address gaps in service among the clientele of Pluri-elles. Consultations with Francophone community services, including schools and community agencies, led to the development of Pour de meilleures relations.

The overall goal of Pour de meilleures relations is to enhance the capacities of the project's priority groups to make decisions that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. The project also contributes to increasing awareness of French-language services offered by Pluri-elles for youth, children age 0-6 and their parents, and the Francophone community of Manitoba. The project takes into account the diversity within the Francophone community (Franco-Manitoban, Québécois, French, Metis and African women).

"I don't have a car so I would not be able to hang out with my friends and my kids if I didn't have this program. I get to participate in french which makes it even better." (Participant in the mother's group)
